This site is the property of the Benin Tourism Development Agency (Bénin Tourisme), located at Immeuble Sainte Cécile, Rue Sylvère Alexandre R.7.15 Parcelle D, Lot 163, Quartier Gbèdomidji, Cotonou, Benin. In these terms and conditions (“Terms”), the words “we”, “our” and “us” refer to the Benin Tourism Development Agency. The words “you” and “your” refer to any person accessing this site, whether on their own behalf or on behalf of a third party.
Please read these Terms carefully, as they apply to your use of the jistna.bj website (the “Website”). By browsing this site, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time without directly notifying you. By continuing to use this site after such changes, you automatically accept the new Terms.

2. APDP declaration
In accordance with Law 2017-20 on the Digital Code of the Republic of Benin (Book Five, on the protection of personal data and privacy), the site is subject to the formalities required by the Personal Data Protection Authority (APDP).
In any event, the Benin Tourism Development Agency (Bénin Tourisme) only collects personal information about users for the purposes of certain services offered on jistna.bj. Users provide this information knowingly, in particular when they enter it themselves. In accordance with Law 2017-20 on the Digital Code of the Republic of Benin, every user has the right to access, rectify and object to personal data concerning them, by making a written and signed request, accompanied by a copy of an identity document bearing the holder’s signature, specifying the address to which the response should be sent. No personal information about jistna.bj users is published without their knowledge, exchanged, transferred, assigned or sold on any medium to third parties.
3. Intellectual property rights
You acknowledge that all content on this site is protected by copyright, registered trademarks and other intellectual property rights. The term “Content” refers to anything you may read, listen to, download or view via the site (including, but not limited to, text, images, graphics, videos, music, software, logos, gifs, icons, etc., excluding trademarks, logos or content belonging to other partner companies or authors).
Except with our explicit authorization or as permitted by law, any reproduction, distribution, modification, adaptation, retransmission or publication, even partial, of these elements is strictly prohibited.

You acknowledge that the Benin Tourism Development Agency holds the copyright and registered trademarks for the “JISTNA” logo, the jistna.bj domain name, and the advertising slogans featured on this site. Under this law, users have the right to access, rectify, modify and delete data concerning them personally. This right may be exercised:

Should any provision of these Terms be deemed unenforceable, the remaining clauses shall remain in full force and effect.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Benin. Any dispute shall be submitted to the competent Beninese courts.
Terms of use of the site
Preamble
Bénin Tourisme has developed a platform called JISTNA (jistna.bj), the reference site for the International Day of Remembrance of the Slave Trade and its Abolition, commemorated every 23 August.
As part of the operation of this platform, terms of use are established for the attention of any User making use of it.
The provisions of these Terms of use apply to any use of the platform.
Definitions
This clause defines the key terms of the contract:
- User — this term refers to any person who uses the site or any of the services it offers.
- User content — data submitted by the User on the site.
- Service Provider — Benin Tourism Development Agency (Bénin Tourisme).
Article 1: Purpose
These “terms of use” set out the legal framework for use of the jistna.bj website.
This contract is entered into between:
- the operator of the website, hereinafter referred to as the “Owner”, the Benin Tourism Development Agency (Bénin Tourisme);
- any individual wishing to access the site and its services, hereinafter referred to as the “User”.
These terms of use must be accepted by every User; accessing the site constitutes acceptance of these terms.
If you do not accept the terms of use set out in this contract, you must refrain from accessing the site and the services it offers.
Article 2: Access to services
Any User with internet access may access the site free of charge, from anywhere. Costs incurred by the User to access it (internet connection, computer equipment, etc.) are not borne by the Publisher.
Article 3: Changes to the terms of use
jistna.bj reserves the right to amend the clauses of these terms of use at any time, without justification. The applicable terms are those published on the site.
Article 4: Duration of the contract
This contract is of indefinite duration. It takes effect for the User from the moment they begin using the site.
Article 5: Governing law and jurisdiction
This contract is governed by Beninese law. The courts of Benin have sole jurisdiction over any dispute related to use of the site.
